Happy Snake 🐍

A bright, squishy jelly snake wanders a sunlit grass field ringed by a magic pine forest, hunting glossy red apples. It's the snake game you remember — except gentler, kinder, and built from the ground up for tiny hands and developing eyes.

Made for the youngest players (and the grown-ups who play with them)

The headline feature is No Speed (Manual) mode: the snake doesn't move on its own at all. It only steps forward when your child presses a direction — no time pressure, no panic, no accidental crashes. It's ideal for very young kids who are still learning left from right, or who just want to take their time and explore.

When they're ready, you can flip to Very Slow, Slow, Medium, or Auto-Increase (gently speeds up with every apple eaten). Choosing whether to have a speed at all — or not — is the heart of what makes Happy Snake friendly.

Toddler-friendly safety nets

  • No-reverse protection — accidentally pressing the opposite direction pops up a big red ❌ and blocks the move. A frantic double-tap can't end the game.
  • Draw-first, crash-second — when the snake bumps into a tree or itself, you actually see the moment of contact before the round ends, so kids understand why.
  • Food Safety zones — keep apples away from the forest border so they always spawn in easy-to-reach spots toward the center.

Premium indie visuals

  • A neon-yellow jelly snake with glossy specular highlights on every segment.
  • High-contrast teal-green grass for easy readability — friendly to developing eyes.
  • A three-tiered magic pine forest border with little wooden trunks.
  • Big googly eyes that look in the direction you're moving, and a wide D-smile whenever the snake munches an apple.
  • A flipping cartoon tail that animates on every single step.

Classic console-style D-pad

A clean 3×3 cross-layout controller sits right under the canvas, so little eyes don't have to travel far between the action and their fingers.

Saves progress

  • Top 5 high scores ("Forest Legends") stored with the date earned.
  • Speed and Food Safety settings persist across sessions.
  • A friendly "Try again? ✅ ❌" overlay after each round.
